The New Zealand Government has launched a new business migration scheme to help boost economic performance by making New Zealand more attractive for business and entrepreneurial migrants.
The new policy package is designed for migrants who want to invest or set up a business in New Zealand and gain permanent residence.
Categories under which you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency of New Zealand include:
Investor Plus (Category One) - investment funds of NZ$10 million+
Investor (Category Two) - investment funds of NZ$1.5 million+
Long Term Business Visa - 3-year work visa to provide sufficient time to move to New Zealand and commence your business prior to applying for New Zealand residence.
Entreprenuer (Residence) - after running your business for two years, Long Term Business Visa permit holders may be eligible to apply for New Zealand residence as an entrepreneur.
Entrepreneur Plus - faster path to residence for applicants with Long Term Business Visas who create at least 3 fulltime jobs and invest $500,000 in their business. Will be implemented from November 2009.
